Part of Royal Haskoning’s overall growth strategy is to further develop our Renewable Energy expertise and market share and we are offering a unique and challenging opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to help us grow this key business area.

Royal Haskoning will be building on its extensive track record in the renewable energy sector in providing a range of specialist services for developers, local authorities and others with an interest in this field. Our services are delivered in support of the many developing areas of technology in the sector, including:
  • Offshore and onshore wind farms.
  • Tidal and wave.
  • Bioenergy, including biofuels and biomass.
  • Combined heat and power (CHP) facilities.
  • Micro regeneration.
  • Sustainable energy usage.
Job description
The key duties and responsibilities for the Business Developer will be as follows:-
  • Responsibility to develop the current Royal Haskoning Renewable Energy services within wider client offerings.
  • To provide and communicate business opportunities within & across the Divisions, building these into Divisional and Advisory Group business plans.
  • To undertake a strategic market review into the Renewable Energy sector including appraisal of clients, services, regions and identification of opportunities for profitable growth.
  • To develop a business plan for the Renewable Energy sector, confirming those market areas that build on existing strengths and capabilities with the aim of identifying growth areas.
  • To co-ordinate, report and communicate assignments undertaken within the sector –across and within Advisory Groups.
  • To share information across the UK regions and divisions to stimulate awareness of sector opportunities.
  • To liaise with the Marketing and Communications Support Group to develop awareness and profile raising of the Company within the sector (exhibitions, publications etc)
  • To develop own and Company profile within the sector via committee membership, papers etc.
  • Member of the senior management team and will actively work with other Business Managers and their teams in terms of potential leads and delivery of business management and market consolidation.
Your qualifications and experience
With excellent communication and presentation skills, you will have a proven ability in influencing at senior levels, can demonstrate a sound commercial awareness with your background showing the following:-
  • MICE / MIEE / MIMechE / MBA or equivalent accreditation to support the complex nature of business development and technical input required for the position.
  • Significant experience at a senior level within the Renewable Energy sector.
  • Proven business development experience
  • Experience and involvement in the following some of the following areas:
    • planning consent process for Renewable Energy projects in at least one type out: offshore wind, onshore wind, tidal, wave, biomass, waste to energy
    • economics of Renewable Energy and grants / subsidies
    • delivery of Renewable Energy projects
    • drivers and showstoppers of Renewable Energy projects
    • power generation and connection to grid
    • general engineering and environmental aspects of Renewable Energy projects
  • Experience of working and influencing within a matrix management structure.
  • Extensive Renewable Energy client network and / or profile
