Opower helps households use less energy and save money while improving their quality of life. As a Business Development Analyst at OPOWER you will assist the Senior Director for Retail Operations in analyzing and activating new lines of business in the United States and globally. The position will primarily focus on business analysis, project management, and supporting the development of vibrant partnerships with energy efficiency-oriented retailers and brands.
You will be expected to deliver accurate and actionable perspectives on market structures and the viability of particular business opportunities, as well as to adeptly manage concurrent client-facing projects in collaboration with a wide variety of internal colleagues. You will work with every part of Opower’s business, and gain expertise in retail operations, marketing strategy, sales development, digital communications and in managing cross-functional projects in different parts of the world.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with 3-5 years of work experience (ideally with an energy efficiency, consulting or quant-heavy strategic marketing/retail background) who wants to work for a fast-growing Cleantech company that is fundamentally changing the relationship Americans have with energy consumption. Flawless financial modeling and efficient research skills are required. Thoughtful synthesis and engaging communication skills are essential. A motivated and curious mind, collaborative spirit and commitment to deliver are assumed. Fluency with statistical modeling and developing technical requirements is a valued plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and provide insight on the market structure and regulatory climate within which Opower’s clients operate.
  • Identify and evaluate potential vendors, retail and brand partners, and technology solutions required to support business growth.
  • Develop customized presentations, talking points, and other supporting materials that will be used as part of sales pitches and partnership development.
  • Architect and own the financial model for new and existing business initiatives.
  • Partner and client project management

About You

  • You have BA/BS from a top university. A minimum of three years of work experience in a relevant field is required.
