This project has openings for highly motivated and experienced banders and bander assistants at its bird monitoring stations throughout the year. Participants are expected to have experience in identifying birds and using mist nets. The project monitors for resident and migrant species and conducts migration censuses of the millions of diurnal migrants moving along the coast. Interns mainly work with other volunteers and scientists. Interns might also be requested to support environmental education and community outreach activities. This is one of the longest running wildlife monitoring efforts in Latin America.
Interns receive free room and board while staying at the bird monitoring stations.
This project is posted on the Latin Lounge.
