These dedicated grassroots volunteers are matched by a respected staff of project managers, lawyers, policy experts, and scientists, who work out of more than 45 offices across the country. Our mission is to conserve, protect, and restore North America's cold-water fisheries and their watersheds. Position SummaryTrout Unlimited (TU) is seeking qualified individuals to serve as full-time biological field seasonal interns from mid-May to August 2018 for the Pennsylvania Coldwater Habitat Restoration Program. To accomplish this, TU staff work to improve water quality through abandoned coal mine cleanup; reduce non-point source sediment pollution through streambank stabilization, riparian reforestation, installation of instream habitat structures, and improvement of dirt and gravel roads; increase flood resiliency and aquatic organism passage through addressing problematic road-stream crossings. The biological field intern positions are based out of TU's field office in Lock Haven, PA, and will report directly to the Field and Research Manager for daily work tasks, but will coordinate and work on projects as a team member with all staff.
