This wildlife rescue centre is looking for a long-term volunteer (six months minimum) to oversee the care of pumas. The work includes feeding the cats, cleaning the enclosures, providing enrichment for them and the general maintenance of the area. Some of the cats are walked through the jungle on cords. You will also be in charge of the volunteers in your area.
You will have one day off every week. One week of vacation is given every six months.
Candidates should have a strong interest in cats, in their behaviour and their well-being, and must have volunteered or worked with large cats before.
The big cat coordinator receives free accommodation and meals, as well as a monthly stipend of US$150.
Please visit the Volunteer Latin America website for further information and to apply.
