Do you want to play major role in supporting London’s green SMEs as well as accelerate delivery of clean, local energy to help achieve a net zero carbon London by 2030. The post holder will lead on the Project Management of a part funded European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) – Better Futures Programme as part of the wider development of a Cleantech Innovation cluster for London and is looking for an experienced project manager to take up the role of the Better Futures Project Manager. The post will support GLA staff as the accountable body with the delivery of the Better Futures ERDF project, to ensure successful delivery and compliance. Support will be provided from project delivery to closure. This will include assisting with the continued co-ordination of the necessary support and project management systems for the Better Futures project, in line with the requirements of the ERDF 2014 – 2020 programme, and specifically leading on communications, marketing and evaluation as well as general project management and monitoring. The post will need to work closely with the ERDF compliance officer. You will have the ability to manage complex projects and motivate and align project partners and stakeholders. You will be a successful project manager with excellent written and oral communication skills, a well-informed and creative approach to problem-solving, strong budgeting skills, the ability to operate in a busy and complex political environment and experience of working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. To succeed, you will need a knowledge of sustainable development or the cleantech low carbon sector, or business support and experience of implementing sustainability issues in a political environment, including a successful track record of communicating such complex issues. You will need strong project management skills and the ability to ensure that the key policy themes are properly integrated. Strong relationship building, presentation and writing skills are essential, and you must be able to operate effectively in a sensitive political environment. This role will be based at London Fire Brigade’s Head Office (Union Street SE1 0LL). At present GLA staff are working largely from home, with office space available. Over the coming weeks and months, we will be moving to hybrid working as part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.
