ABOUT THE JOB

Opower is seeking a talented Associate Product Marketing Manager who has a passion for storytelling and creating compelling marketing materials. This role will be responsible for the creation and evolution of Opower’s collateral suite, including data sheets, whitepapers, and slide decks, to ensure that these materials clearly communicate Opower’s value proposition and differentiation. This person will also participate in all other activities of the Product Marketing group including thought leadership, product launches, competitive & market research, pricing, and strategy development. As part of these responsibilities, the Associate Product Marketing Manager will collaborate with subject-matter experts throughout the company and gain broad insight into our entire business.
The Product Marketing team’s objectives are to strengthen Opower’s value proposition in current markets, expand our value proposition to new markets, uncover new product opportunities, and ensure that the company continues to be an industry leader clearly differentiated from competitors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clearly articulate value proposition and business case for Opower solution in terms that will deeply resonate externally
  • Collaborate with colleagues throughout the company to create compelling marketing materials, including data sheets, whitepapers, and slide decks, for all aspects of Opower’s business
  • Train client-facing teams on latest marketing materials, including proactively anticipating client concerns or objections and arming these teams accordingly
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts on thought leadership pieces and webinar content
  • Own or assist with product launches, competitive & market research, pricing, and strategy development
  • Have an informed point of view on where the industry is going (and why) along with what Opower should do to be successful in the market and beat competitors

ABOUT YOU

  • You have 2+ years of product marketing experience, preferably in clean-tech and/or the enterprise software industry, developing marketing materials to support B2B sales. Sales and/or design experience a plus.
  • You have a strong academic record and are “street smart” in addition to being “book smart”
  • You’re a stellar communicator and storyteller who can express complex ideas in simple (yet compelling) ways
  • You’re a self-starter who can work independently or with minimal supervision
  • You have strong project & time management skills, are organized, and can manage multiple project at one time
  • You see the big picture but also sweat the details
  • You have a strong desire to build relationships and work with key members of multiple departments throughout the organization to accomplish common objectives
  • You’re an expert with Powerpoint, Word, and Excel. Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator is a plus.
  • You’re willing to jump in and help out with whatever’s needed
  • You have a can-do attitude, take pride in your work, and have fun doing it
