Description

The European Climate Foundation has well established initiatives on Energy Systems and Governance. The main objectives of these activities are to meet the objectives of the Paris Agreement by accelerating the energy transition across Europe, and supporting the development of long term strategies and governance to plan for the transition to carbon neutral societies. With the European Clean Energy For All Europeans Package nearly closed, the focus shifts to national implementation, which includes innovative aspects like the National Energy & Climate Plans to 2030 and long-term strategies to 2050 required for every Member State. It is an opportunity the ECF and its partners in civil society relate in a structured way to these plans so they provide a basis for accelerating investments in clean energy and to increased ambition in the next years.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the ECF in organising Clean Energy Package implementation on national level with a particular focus on the Governance Regulation, the National Energy & Climate Plans (NECPs) and their consistency with countries’ Long Term Strategies (LTS). You will be running workshops with partners in Brussels and at national level, convening meetings, taking minutes, maintaining contact with Brussels policy-makers in the Commission and the European Parliament; and generally become the focal point for the daily coordination work on the subject for the wider ECF network of civil society organisations;
  • Support the ECF in its activities on the Multi-Annual Financial Framework (MFF), in particular where this intersects with the NECPs and with the politics of 2050. You will be managing projects related to the role of NECPs in Cohesion Funds and InvestEU in cooperation ECFs civil society and think-tank networks in Brussels, as well as organizing the process and communication on the findings towards decision-makers and the network;
  • Overall support for ECF’s Governance initiative and Energy Systems initiative. You will support the initiatives’ strategy development and implementation processes and management of relationships with key grantees and other ECF inititiaves. This includes practical and logistical support, planning and organising internal and external meetings, drafting/reviewing reports and minutes, helping to prepare presentations to funders, travel logistics, expense reimbursement and invoice processing; as well as grant-ma
