350.org is looking for a brilliant & fierce Associate Director of Global Policy and Campaigns, to join our team of dedicated individuals who lead 350’s global campaigns and campaigning initiatives. About 350.org 350.org is building a global grassroots movement to solve the climate crisis. Our online campaigns, grassroots organizing, and mass public actions are led from the bottom up by thousands of volunteer organizers in over 188 countries. 350.org works hard to organize in a new way—everywhere at once, using online tools to facilitate strategic offline action. About the Associate Director of Global Policy and Campaigns role The Associate Director of Global Policy and Campaigns is responsible for leading the development of 350.org’s policy work, ensuring there are clear and agreed policy positions relating to key issues and areas of work, and that campaigns across the organization can be built integrating substantive, credible policy analysis. Through developing and maintaining a clear process for analysis of climate policy news and the creation of talking points and responses, as well producing regular briefings for the organization on current geopolitical contexts and trends, the Associate Director of Global Policy and Campaigns will ensure that 350.org is attuned to the latest developments in climate diplomacy and that our campaigns and communications are optimized to respond and relate to them. This role will also lead global campaigns that contribute to 350.org’s strategy, with a focus on the financing of the fossil fuel industry. A key project that this role will lead on brings together campaigning from 350.org’s Asia, Africa and Europe Regional Teams and external partners. This campaign involves high level negotiations with a major financial institution and navigating a globally distributed campaign coalition through challenging diplomatic territory. Responsibilities
