Nagshead is situated in the heart of the Forest of Dean, one of England's largest areas of lowland woodland. The post holder will assist with the day-to-day management of Nagshead nature reserve site of special scientific interest. This varied role requires effective management of the reception centre, delivery of the events programme, maintaining site infrastructure, carrying out a variety of important wildlife monitoring work, supervising the volunteer team, practical habitat management work and assisting the Forest of Dean Manager in other duties as required.Candidates should have experience and be capable of carrying out bird surveys in a woodland situation, working/volunteering on a nature reserve or similar, be able to use hand tools/machinery, be well organised and a good communicator, and lead public events and lead a large volunteer team.
