Set in the coastal marshes of Essex, we require an experienced person to join our small team at Old Hall, to help continue a 400-year old tradition in the grazing management of 365 Ha of wet grassland and coastal habitat. The successful applicant will manage a small team of residential and local volunteers to assist with the day- to-day management of the site, principally aimed at producing a grass sward attractive to breeding waders and up to 10,000 wintering wildfowl, including up to 4,000 brent geese. The post-holder will also be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of vehicles and machinery and for most aspects of avian survey and recording, as well as the maintenance of a low-key visitor infrastructure. The successful candidate will ideally have experience of grazing livestock, coastal, wet grassland and reed-bed habitats and be educated to HND/degree level.
