Description

Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) invites applications from postgraduate degree holders in the Natural Resources Management/Environmental Studies/Social Sciences with 1-3 years’ experience, to work in the Terai Tiger Project in WTI.

Who we’re looking for

As AFO – Terai Tiger Project, you will be responsible for day-to-day implementation of the assigned activities and provide technical support to the teams on-ground in project development, reporting, data management and analysis.

Qualifications and skills

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in the field of Natural Resource Management, Wildlife and Nature Conservation/Research projects will be desirable.
  • Post-graduate degree in disciplines such as Anthropology, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Studies, Political Science, Social Sciences or equivalent.
  • Experience in working in the area of wildlife conservation
  • Knowledge of social science research techniques including socio-economic survey, PRA and preparing micro-plans is desirable
  • Skill in organising, prioritising, scheduling, planning and coordinating work; attention to detail.
  • Skills in grant management, technical reporting and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ability to multi-task and ability to create and work in a team-oriented, multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Broad responsibilities include

  1. Implement all project related activities as per the Project Implementation Plan of project.
  2. Contribute to strategic planning and plan the project activities in consultation with the Division Head/PI.
  3. Liaise with relevant government departments, donors/potential donors and other agencies as required.
  4. Report periodically about work progress, through compiled monthly reports, and communicate to concerned line manager.
  5. Responsible for all field reports, photographic documentation, submission of data sheets etc as per the requirements of the Reporting Manager.
  6. Responsible for all field level governmental and partner liaising at appropriate levels and local public relation needs in consultation with the Reporting Manager.
  7. Responsible for acting as the on-site representative of WTI (at particular level) and to ensure that the image of WTI as a conservation action organization operating in the field is maintained at all times.
  8. Responsible for maintenance of all assets of the organization in the area of activity.
  9. Provide content for website and participate in dissemination and outreach.
