Purpose

To produce a summary document of the activities, key science findings and policy implications/connections of the NERC Changing Arctic Ocean Programme (CAO). The document is expected to be around 15-20 pages, with a two-page key-findings executive summary.

Additional tasks as needed, to support the planning of the Programme’s annual science meeting/end of programme event and related communications activities.

Qualification

Degree level education in ocean science (or equivalent experience)

Duties

Compile key statistics on the CAO programme – locations, cruises etc.

  • Identify and summarise the main science findings from the individual CAO projects
  • Summarise national and potentially international policy implications of CAO findings
  • Produce first draft, interim draft and final draft of short summary report and executive summary
  • Source/design appropriate figures and images, working with the graphic designer to produce a final version of the report
  • Liaison with CAO project PIs and others
  • Support to develop a communication plan for the finalised report
  • Work with NERC Arctic Office in developing the CAO End of Programme event and related communications activity.
