The Zero-Emission Truck Initiative aims to accelerate the clean energy transition in the heavy-duty vehicles sector. We do this by securing transformational, durable public policies that will drive the long-term turnover in the vehicle stock; and partnering with fleets to increase near-term truck and bus deployments. We aim to have 100% of new heavy-duty vehicles be zero-polluting by 2040 with an interim target of 30% zero-polluting by 2030.
OVERALL FUNCTION
The analyst will be a core member of the Zero-Emission Truck Initiative who will contribute to the success of the team electrification efforts by (i) maintain, operate and improve EDF suite of tools for supporting fleets with zero-emission vehicle deployment (ii) conduct analysis to support EDF work with fleets to develop and implement electrification roadmaps; (iii) support advancing the fleet deployment strategy as related to partnerships through EDFCC and the Fleet Electrification Handbook; (iv) coordinate zero-emission truck analytics across EDF; and (iv) supporting staff and program initiatives that shape fleet incentives and other policies in select states
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support relationship management with fleets and manufacturers to advance the deployment of zero-emission trucks and buses
- Manages databases related to EDF fleet deployment efforts, including grant opportunities, fleet commitments and vehicle production announcements and schedules
- Maintain operate EDF total cost of ownership (TCO) calculations
- Help demonstrate the business case for vehicle electrification of medium- and heavy-duty fleets, including refining and employing EDF’s TCO for use with specific fleet efforts in near term deployments
- Monitor industry perspectives on barriers and opportunities that drive adoption of Zero-Emission Vehicles
- Support analysis of up-front infrastructure costs and other considerations of electrifying heavy-duty truck fleet
- Support EDF-organized the Fleet Readiness Group, including work with group manager on context related to grants, incentives programs and innovative private sector financing
- Contribute to training and support of EDF Climate Corps fellows working on fleet electrification projects.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience conducting comparable scientific research, quantitative analysis, policy analysis or an advanced degree in a related field
- Strong quantitative analysis skills and experience in performing rigorous analyses;
- Knowledge of fleet electrification projects and familiarity with opportunities and barriers in the sector
- Demonstrable project and people management skills, including the ability to work with colleagues and partners of varied background and experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for senior executive audiences.
- Creative and innovative thinker willing to challenge the status quo and propose new ideas and opportunities.
- Proven ability to work both independently and lead a team in a fast-paced, dynamic, and creative environment.
- Experience managing a diverse workload.
- Exceptional personal organization and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in the use of standard business software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
