RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for expanding ERM's air quality practice and client base in Northern California. 
  • Identify and develop specific opportunities and sell ERM’s air quality service capabilities, with emphasis on California and the Western U.S. Prepare strong technical proposals and take an active leadership role in the development of new business with new and existing clients.
  • Organize and direct air quality/compliance projects in compliance with CAA and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Achieve the client’s expectations for scope, budget, and schedule, and ensure the achievement of high-quality standards in the preparation and submittal of project deliverables.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level staff in the proper planning and execution of air quality projects, and in directing or conducting independent technical reviews of deliverable work products.
  • Support the general growth and development of ERM’s international air quality and climate change practice.
  • Develop a working understanding of ERM’s other consulting practice areas and actively support the cross-selling other services to existing clients.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource on air quality compliance assurance and permitting programs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in engineering (chemical, mechanical, environmental), environmental science, or related degree; MS preferred
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in air quality/compliance consulting
  • Proven experience in business development for large air quality/regulatory compliance contracts
  • Must have consulting experience working with Title V, PSD, NSR, BACT, and MACT
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and computer skills
  • Established relationships with regulatory authorities and large, private-sector industrial companies (potential clients) in California and Western US
  • PE certification preferred
