Description

The Actions Unit is an integral part of Greenpeace UK’s programme, providing strategic, tactical and creative input into all campaigns and appropriate investigations. The team are currently looking for a permanent Activist Community Builder.

The role sits within the wider Logistics Department in Greenpeace UK, which comprises of our Warehouse/Workshop, Actions Team and Outreach Team, also working very closely with the Events Team. The department is tasked with delivery of offline work in support of the aims of Greenpeace UK. This covers an enormous range and amount of work from Street Stalls and Public Speaking to Interventions and HQ occupations.

The role will support the Activist Coordinator with ongoing support and retention of a network of 500, and growing, skilled, dedicated activists. The postholder will work with the Activist Coordinator, to identify gaps in activist engagement and retention, and to create a programme of regular communication and engagement opportunities for the activist network.

This role will act as the main point of contact for volunteers within the Actions Unit for the Non Violent Direct Action (NVDA) training application process.

This role will work closely with the Activist Coordinator and Training Coordinator to deliver the NVDA training programme. The role will also provide administrative and logistical support in and out of the office for the Activist Coordinator and wider actions team at key moments.

Requirements

The post holder will need excellent organisational and time management skills, and an ability to remain calm under pressure. An interest in motivating, supporting and developing volunteers, with a willingness to work anti-social hours and at weekends is required.

A genuine passion for, and understanding of, Greenpeace’s mission and methods is essential.
