Volunteer at the Iberian Lynx Breeding Centre this summer and help save the world’s rarest cat species. Gain valuable experience in the field or gather data towards a research project.
ICNB, Instituto da Conservacao da Natureza e da Biodiversidade, are looking for dedicated volunteers from July to October 2011 to assist with monitoring and surveillance at the Lynx Breeding Centre in Silvas, Southern Portugal.
Volunteers should be final year undergraduates or above, studying animal behavioural studies or a similar discipline.
Duration Ideally volunteers will commit to between 8 and 12 weeks at the centre. The centre has 24hr surveillance and we would hope that you will be willing to work 8 hour day and night shifts. The working language will be English.
Cost This is an unpaid placement.
You will be required to cover your own costs for international travel, subsistence (approx. £10-£15 per day) and insurance. Two weeks on-site training, accommodation and limited local transport will be provided free of charge.
