The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, Inc. (RGGI, Inc.) seeks to hire a (unpaid, for-credit) student intern for the Spring 2017 semester.
RGGI, Inc. is a non-profit corporation established to support the implementation of RGGI---the nation’s first mandatory, market-based program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The nine states participating in RGGI have reduced carbon pollution while supporting economic growth, and reinvesting in a cleaner and more efficient energy system. Interning at RGGI, Inc. offers an exciting opportunity to learn more about how this successful program works on a daily basis, and to gain experience in greenhouse gas reduction, energy programs, and policy communications.
Candidates must be full-time students, and may use the internship to earn academic credit. The internship is scheduled for February through May 2017. Start dates, end dates, and hours are flexible according to the intern’s class schedule, but it is expected that interns could commit to 6-10 hours per week.
Working with the Communications Manager and other RGGI, Inc. staff, the intern will assist in the monitoring and tracking of RGGI allowances, auction proceeds, and electricity use in the RGGI region. The intern will also assist in keeping stakeholders, the media, and the public informed about RGGI.
