Project Protect Gorillas (PPG), an initiative of the Government of the Republic of Congo and the John Aspinall Foundation, which dates from 1987, aims to protect endangered species in general and especially gorillas in Congo - Brazzaville. This project is now called Project Lésio-Luna (PLL), the name of the gorilla sanctuary operated since 1993.
